Description: (Conserve the Destruction-01, 02, 03 and Conserve the Ruins-02) We are unconsciously possessed by the instinct to damage the world around us so it is difficult to be sure that an individual can actually create any positive impact. This kind of practice has caused the destruction of nature and upset its delicate balance. We should be careful especially with regards to deforestation and conserve our forests and wildlife reserve with individual care. Yes, we can do it; there are millions of people just like us, who are concentrating on this issue and taking small steps to conserve our environment everyday.

Description: (Illusion of Nature-01, 02, 03) The viewer’s eyes will follow the forms around the canvas – to meander. Anyone can discover new things each time they look. The lines are incredibly organic and playful; some of them seem to be withering. Life and death seem to be present at once. Some of the brownish-red color looks like dried blood. In this painting it looks like the green is about to enclose the red as if to form the Bangladeshi flag. It works as an abstraction too and it makes one also think more abstractly about the formation of Bangladesh as a process that takes time and is painful and somehow entangled with the natural world. One cannot define a country with a single line. If one stands back from the painting the smaller lines fade and the colors look more like nebulae in outer space. They are atmospheric and slow.

Description: (Individualism-01, 02) In these paintings I make An Enemy of the People as my point of departure. I aim to portray the individuals and thinkers who are oppressed by the majority. My understanding of the play inspired me to reflect on the canvas in the two paintings. The medium used is acrylic which is covered in bold textured surface made by sand. The facial expressions reveal the struggle and achievement of individualism. The colors used in the paintings are brown, yellow-green, dull yellow and light yellow. Brown is a friendly yet serious, down-to-earth color that relates to safety, defence, comfort, and material wealth. Yellow-green can point to sickness, cowardice, and discord. Dull yellow represents caution, decay, sickness, and jealousy. Light yellow is associated with intellect, freshness, and joy. With the help of these meaningful colors, the textured images create complicated forms to portray both the courageous and awful aspects of individuals.

Description: The acknowledgement and pleasure of performance ability is the main motif of thispainting. The level of capacity reached might be pursued, expected, desired or simply predetermined as the point which provides contentment. For my painting, I have chosen “Contentment” as the title. When we achieve a result after hard work, whatever it is, we are very happy. When a baby is born to eagerly awaiting parents, they consider themselves the happiest people in the world. As an artist my feeling is very similar to the happiness of those parents. In painting I tried to show the concept of contentment through this work. The colors, lines and forms are selected from nature and intended to evoke satisfaction among the viewers.

I feel it incites joy and passion in this painting, muchlike a red wedding sari or red ‘teep’ on a woman’s forehead. Nature seems to rejoice with the blooming of red ‘Krishnochura’ and ‘roktojoba’ flowers; and yet, the color also sombrely reminds us of the sacrifices during our struggle for independence. All in all, this piece is a celebration of passion- my personal homage to the color red.
